An Endless Space Shooter is a fast-paced, arcade-style video game that plunges the player into a relentless battle against an ever-increasing horde of alien ships and cosmic threats.

Non-Stop Action: The central defining feature is the "endless" loop. There are no fixed levels or campaigns; the game challenges the player to survive for as long as possible against successive, increasingly difficult waves of enemies.  

High-Score Focus: The primary goal is achieving the highest possible score before the inevitable destruction of your ship. A global or local leaderboard system often drives competition and replayability.

Simple Yet Challenging Controls: Gameplay usually involves controlling a single spaceship, moving to avoid enemy fire and collisions while simultaneously shooting down adversaries. Controls are typically intuitive, relying on quick reflexes and smart navigation.

Progressive Difficulty: The challenge ratchets up over time, often through faster enemies, denser projectile patterns (bullet hell), and the introduction of new, more resilient foes.

Retro Aesthetic: Many games in this genre embrace a classic arcade look and feel, featuring vibrant pixel art, 2D graphics, and an immersive, energetic soundtrack.  

Ship Customization: Players may have a selection of ships, each with unique base stats, weapons, or special abilities, allowing for different play styles.
